The German Research Foundation is seeking applications for the Ursula M. Händel Prize. The award is granted to scientists who are considered to have made exemplary and sustained efforts to improve the welfare of animals in science and research. The prize entails a grant of up to €80,000 to be used for animal protection in scientific research. It  is awarded for scientific research projects that reduce, refine or replace animal use. Both finalized and running projects may be considered.

Applications are due by January 15, 2019.
