The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is offering Small Business Innovation Research grants to develop methods that improve the reproducibility of human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) derivation, growth, and differentiation. Eligible projects should seek to address the significant variability currently observed in human iPSCs in reprogramming efficiency, differentiation potential, and cell growth and stability, which is limiting the full application of these tools to research and clinical practice. Eleven NIH Institutes and centers, including the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, intend to commit funds to this effort. An estimated 25 grants will be awarded to U.S. small businesses. Applications will be accepted from December 6, 2019 through January 6, 2020. More information is available at
