AWI Refinement grants open for applications
Posted on 2023-09-15AWI's Refinement Research Award is officially open for applications. The deadline this year is November 10th, 2023. The award amount has been increased to $US15,000 this year. This award funds research projects whose aim is to develop and/or test innovative methods of refinement to the care, husbandry, or housing of animals in research to improve their welfare.
AWI's Implementing Refinement Grant is a new funding opportunity that offers grants of up to US$8,000 toward the implementation of existing refinement strategies. It is not a research grant. The aim of the new Implementing Refinement Grant is to help with the purchase of equipment (e.g., enrichment) or training of staff for the purpose of refining the care, husbandry, and/or housing of animals in research to improve their welfare. The deadline this year is November 10th, 2023.Â
